Agua de Beber
Last updated: 22.01.22
I came to Agua de Beber, a Latin-American jazz piece by Antônio Carlos Jobim, when auditioning to join a small mixed Bremen group [Christian, Henner, Maja, Marlene] after my time in the Collegium Musicum Bremen. It was amongst 4 other SATB quartet pieces.
The words are by Vinicius de Moreas and the SATB arrangement by Jürgen Kreffter
Written in F♭-Major it opens with a series of "debaduda"s followed by a two-verse comparison of love with rain to keep the lovelorn flower alive. Tragic stuff - what!
It may be found in Jazz im Chor - Heft 2 published by Gustav Bosse Verlag.
