Sweet Christmas Bells is a traditional Sheffield Carol which I first sang when as a member of the Tyneside Maritime Chorus under Benny Graham. Not only did I sing it but was allowed to join Benny's "band" as a concertina player for the occasion. A fan of the The Young 'Uns, I love their version too.
This carol is among the many, many Sheffield carols with the opening first line of While shepherds watched their flocks by night. This song may be found in the Tyneside Maritime Chorus songbook but not yet in my personal repertoire
