With me Navvy Boots On
Last updated: 11.10.23
I first heard "With me navvy boots on" on a Dubliners recording which I transcribed in the early 1980's. I sang it a lot in the Idle Fellows and still sing it today with and without concertina accompaniment. There are very many versions. It's a humorous song of seduction, desertion, punishment and alimony.
