I had never heard or heard of "Wer recht in Freuden wandern will" until coming across it in Lieder, Songs und Gospels 1
. This is a fairly typical, modern song (lyrics, Emanuel Geibel - melody, Christian Lahusen
) about the joys of walking in the forest. It is very kitschig, the sun's always shining, the stream tippling and at sometime, of course, larks and nightingales are obliged to do a bit of trilling. It's always a relief to finish its four verses.
