Jack Thou'rt a Toper
Last updated: 11.10.23
Jack Thou'rt a Toper is a splendid but demanding catch written by Henry Purcell which I came across in an old undated American broadsheet published in Philadelphia by G. E. Blake entitled Three Favorite Catches For Three Voices. Together with Dr Oliver Rosteck, we had intended record it on We're only here for the beer! but we ran out of time and were unable to find a third tenor. We have however included in the same named songbook. Fiendishly difficult to sing properly but very rewarding to master!
