Here's a Health to the Company
Last updated: 11.10.23
Here's a Health to the Company came into my repertoire by the good graces of the Tyneside Maritime Chorus of which I was a proud member for 3 years between 2011 and 2014. Whereas I never heard them sing it my curiosity was roused sufficiently to track down its tune and roots.
It turns out that this song generally accepted as being Irish has Scottish roots by way of Ulster. It has been noted that it is similar to the Aberdeenshire song The Emigrant's Farewell To Donside.. This song may be found in the Tyneside Maritime Chorus songbook
