Very often, it would be repeated using "long words" in a working class imitation of an aristocratic accent. "Show me the way to go home" being replaced with: "Indicate the way to my abode, I'm fatigued and wish to retire. I imbibed a little approximately 60 minutes ago, ..... "etc. etc.
