I was introduced to The Bergen, written by Jez Lowe, when I joined the Tyneside Maritime Chorus in 2011. This is another Jez Lowe melancholy song which tells of a bonny lass dreaming and fearing for her fisherman lover on the bonny barque, the Bergen somewhere out at sea far, far away.
