Aall Together Like the Folks 'o Shields
Last updated: 22.01.22
Aall Together Like the Folks 'o Shields was collected by John Stokoe in 1893 and included in his Songs and Ballads of Northern England. It pays homage to the pride and strength of the community spirit prevailing in North and South Shields and especially of wor pilots, sailors, life brigade, boatmen and fishermen who are the finest cheps afloat as the song goes. Great stuff indeed!
This song may be found in the Tyneside Maritime Chorus songbook but not yet in my personal repertoire
