Clarence Williams was an American jazz an artist and entrepreneur. He was born near New Orleans, the son of Choctaw Indian having Creole heritage. His father was a bass player and hotel owner Clarence Williams started his musical education performing in the family hotel and singing in the streets leaving homer aged 12 to commence a long career in jazz of which he claimed to be the first user of the word in printed sheet music. He was variously a piano player, prolific composer, recording artist and producer, agent, cabaret manager, publisher and enormously influential in the jazz world of his day. | Websites: | |||
