Twelve Oxen
Last updated: 11.10.23
"Twelve Oxen" was written by Peter Warlock for his friend John Goss. It became part of my repertoire in 2003 by the instance of Dr. Rosteck. Sung fast it is a lot of fun about the ownership of various coloured oxen (brown, white, etc.) "grazing down by the (town, dyke, etc.)". It has a jolly staggered chorus for two voices. Typical Warlock!
It can be forund in The Choral music of Peter Warlock Vol. 1.
