He spent most of his career in England. He worked for some time in "Tin Pan Alley" and achieved much success with King Chanticleer (1911) and If You Were The Only Girl In The World (1916). On leaving "Tin Pan Alley", he returned to England to write for the theatre his shows including The Bing Boys Are Here (1916), The Bing Boys Are There (1917) and the Bing Boys On Broadway (1918) which were performed at the Alhambra.
