All that can presently (May 2022) be gleaned about Marie De Kyser from sheet music covers and by Internet searching is that she was an American soprano who has been featured on at least 8 works published between 1892 and 1916. She also made some 65 recordings on the Edison label between 1912 and 1925. It is said that (see link below) in 1913, Thomas Edison, head of the Edison label, insisted that she change the spelling of her actual surname from Kaiser to De Kyser to avoid public backlash.ed Surfers are welcome to contribute any further information about this performer.
