According to the Internet source given below, John Raymond Hubbell, also known as Raymond Hubbell, was an American writer, composer and lyricist. Today he is most remembered for the popular song, Poor Butterfly (1916).
He was born in Urbana, Ohio and studied music in Chicago forming a dance band. He was employed by Charles K. Harris Publishers as a staff arranger and pianist.
