Length: approx. 4¾ mins. Sounds best with doubled 1st tenor. There are four sections using the major keys A-flat, A-flat, D-flat and A-flat. Joplin dedicated Leola to Miss Minnie Wade. This piece was the first to bear the composers "warning" i.e. "Notice! Don't play this piece fast. It is never right to play "rag-time" [sic] fast. Author, which in various spellings can be found on all later works.
