Length: approx. 4 mins. Sounds best with doubled 1st tenor. Four sections using major keys F, F, B-flat and B-flat.
Elite Syncopations really lives up to its title. This is pure, happy, straight-up-and-down ragtime music. The quintessence of ragtime joy is entered into immediately in the introduction and 1st section with a tattoo of off-beat sixteenths requiring exacting use of the tongue. The 2nd section can be described as ragtime baroque and lends itself excellently to the recorder - the treble player will have great fun changing to descant and back. The final two pleasing sections round off a balanced work. A minor masterpiece!
