p_samuelsr.jpgAccording to the Internet source given below, Rachel "Rae" Samuels was one of vaudeville's biggest stars born in Youngstown, Ohio.
She started to perform as a child and her professional career began singing illustrated songs in a Chicago movie theater when in her teens. Samuels billed herself as "the blue streak of vaudeville" whilst on the cover of Honky Tonky Monkey Rag (1911) words & music by Chris Smith, and published by Thompson & Co., Chicago, Illinois, USA. she was billed as (Kid) Ray Samuels, The Ragtime Kid.
After a career spanning some 20 years as a comedienne, she retired in 1935.
She died in Mahwah, New Jersey.
The lists include items which were credited to Ray Samuels (5) and Ray Sameels (1) assuming that these were misspellings.
