Honey Bee, an early Mamie Williams composition which she self-published, is a fine Kansas folksy march two step. It is written in AABBCCDD form with a 4-bar introduction whereby the AB-, and CD-strains are written in the keys of C and F respectively. This adaptation for recorder sextet will delight those ensembles that enjoy alternating their instruments as both the 1st and 3rd tenors alternate to descant and bass respectively. This piece is black with printers ink as all voices are continuously employed - no bar-counting here!
Honey Bee was published by Williams Publishing Co., Kansas City, Missouri, USA.
A tempo of 160 crotchets/min. is suggested.
