Joplin respectfully dedicated The Rosebud March
to "my friend Tom Turpin". Thomas Million Turpin
, also a ragtime composer, made a considerable contribution to the genre by opening the Rosebud Café
in 1900 which became the rendezvous for all notable ragtime players in St Louis This so-called march is extremely gay and cheerful making excellent dance music.
The Rosebud March
was published by Stark Music Co
, St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
For my part, I respectfully dedicated this recorder adaptation to Jill Kemp, recorder player par excellent, England.
