Purchasing information Notice for leaders/bass players
Length: approx. 4 mins. Sounds best if the 2nd tenor plays the lower notes of chords only.
As mentioned above this rag started a craze for animal dances. It is a very pleasant jog-along classic rag its character being quite at odds with fearsome creature depicted on the original sheet music. The first and second voices will enjoy the long melodic "solo" passages, especially where the pass the melody to each other. All-in-all a straightforward, very agreeable piece.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
