Nellie W. Stokes (1882-)

Overview

According to Nora Hulse in her Cakewalks, Two Steps and Rags, Nellie M Stokes was a clerk, song-plugger and manager for the publisher Jerome H. Remick, Detroit. She wrote some five syncopated pieces and two waltzes for Jerome H. Remick & Co. and is perhaps best known in the ragtime world for her rag Snow Ball (1906).
