According to the Internet source given below, George Alex Stevens was a songwriter, musical show director and a writer of music hall songs. He has written more than 2000 songs published under the names "G. Alex Stevens", 'Geo A Stevens' and "George A. Stevens".
His songs were sung by Marie Lloyd, Albert Chevalier, R. G. Knowles, Gracie Fields, Florrie Forde, Lily Burnard among many others. Perhaps his best-known song is On Mother Kelly's Doorstep (1925) published by J. Albert & Son, Sydney, Australia..
