Red Wing, one of Mills' hits, is a sad sentimental love song about a shy Indian maid of the same name who loses her beloved warrior brave in a battle far away. It has a nice easy-to-play tune well suited for recorder ragtime beginners. Mills wrote another "Indian" compositions, so popular in the early 1900's, namely:
Sun Bird (1908) - An Indian Intermezzo.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
Red Wing was published by
F. A. Mills, New York, USA.
