Gold Dust Twins Rag a splendid, very ragged rag in the almost classic form of AABBACCDD with a 4-bar introduction whereby the ABBA- and CCDD-strains are written in the major keys of G and C respectively. The gold dust twins in question are shown on the cover of the original sheet music to be a pair of smiling Piccaninnies, one of whom is thumping a huge upright piano whilst the other appears to be doing a Highland fling. Both are clad only in brief red skirts upon which words GOLD DUST are emblazoned. This rag is still very popular is recorded even today.
Gold Dust Twins Rag was published by F.J.A. Forster Music Publisher, Chicago, Illinois, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
