Mando Rag is a fine composition which was written for and dedicated to the Instrumental Club of Colgate University. That noble body of gentlemen are shown in a very formal group portrait on the front cover of the original sheet music. The rag itself is in the form of AABBCCC with a 4-bar introduction, a 4-bar interlude between the A-and 1st C-strain and 12-bar introductions to each of the 2nd and 3rd C-strain whereby the AB- and C-strains are written in the major key of G and C respectively. This adaptation is a must for recorder ensembles that enjoy alternating to other instruments. Somewhat unusual is the 1st bass's alternation to descant.
Mando Rag was published by Stark Music Co, St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
