Daniels wrote this delightful, light-hearted march Musette using the pseudonym Neil Moret. It was dedicated to and with the compliments of Harman's Jewellery & Song Shop, Baltimore. It is written in the sonata form of ABBACCA with a 4-bar introduction, 3 4-bar interludes and a 4-bar coda whereby the AB- and C-strains are in the major keys of C and F respectively. This transcription for recorder sextet is a good ensemble piece where all three melody voices play together for much of the time. The basses too have their moments of glory, especially in the B-strain.
Musette was published by Whitney-Warner Publishing Co., Detroit, Michigan, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
