According to Nora Hulse in her Ragtime Refreshments, Kathryn Athol Morton was an American pianist and piano teacher, born in Oswego, New York. She learned to read music at Miss Fisher's Ossining School for Girls in New York City. Widowed with 5 young children, she made her living by teaching music and playing the piano in the silent cinemas and radio stations. Of ragtime interest is Ragtime Showers (1902), her only published work although she is said to composed further instrumental works in the 1940s and 1950s.
