Frank W. Meacham (?1856-1909)

Overview

Frank W. Meacham was an American composer and arranger of popular music and born around 1850 in Buffalo New York. He is best remembered for his American Patrol (1885) but despite its popularity and his large output there is virtually no biographical information about him - even the given dates of birth and death are unconfirmed. He arranged songs by Stephen Foster and Victor Herbert and composed of waltzes, songs, and marches for the Patrick Gilmore band under their name. Meacham also composed marches and other pieces using his own name.
