There is very little known about Robert [Bob] Hoffman other than he was an American composer of some half dozen rags and other pieces. He is best known for his I'm Alabama Bound which continues to be recorded until this day. His works are characterised by the preservation and absorption of New Orleans music and their "folksy" strains within them. He was born in Alabama and died in New Orleans.
