Ernie Burnett  (1884-1959)

According to the Internet source given below, Ernie Burnett was an American performer and composer; born in Cincinnati, Ohio 1884 and died in Sarnac Lake, New York. Just as many of his contemporaries he spent some few years as a vaudeville performer but left the United States whilst still in his teens to study music in Italy, Austria and at the Charlottenburg Conservatory. He returned in 1901 to performed as a pianist in vaudeville. He went on to lead his own orchestra and founded his own publishing company. In WWI he served in the 89th division of the AEF. His My Melancholy Baby became a standard.
