He specialises in traditional and contemporary songs of the north-east of England and in particular and its the coal mining communities. He performs solo and collaboraies with Tom McConville, Stu Luckley and is a member of the Pitman Poets along with Benny Graham, Billy Mitchell and Jez Lowe.
