Fiona Russell met the
The Flautadors n 1996 while studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with
Pamela Thorby and
Robert Ehrlich. She attended masterclasses with the
Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet and has represented the Guildhall School on several occasions.
On graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Fiona furthered her studies at the Schola Cantorum Basilienis, Switzerland, and has since gone on to become one of the finest young cornetto players in Europe. As well as with The Flautadors, she is a member of The English Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble, Caecilia-Concert and QuintEssential Sackbut and Cornett Ensemble.She also plays with many of the larger period instrument groups such as The English Concert and The King's Consort Fiona can be heard on many recordings and has taken part in a diverse range of projects including dance, opera and theatre.
Fiona Russell has given masterclasses and coached at Trinity College of Music, Birmingham Conservatoire, the Welsh College of Music and Drama and the University of Toronto.
