Under the Yum Yum Tree was also published as a song with words by Andrew B. Sterling. Its form as a march is AABBBB with a 16-bar interlude preceding each of the final B-strains and is written wholly in C-major. The A-strain is mysterious in character posing a question whist the B-strain makes a bright response - the whole no doubt reflecting the verse and chorus of the original song. This happy piece would be ideal to be included in a programme of other Harry von Tilzer's confectionery compositions such as Chocolate Drops (1902), Candy Kisses (1913) and Stolen Sweets (1917) especially for those recorder ensembles with sweet teeth!
Under the Yum Yum Tree was published by Harry von Tilzer Music Pub. Co., New York, USA.
A tempo of 120 crotchets/min. is suggested.
