A worthy confectionery successor to Chocolate Drops (1902), albeit more than ten years later, Candy Kisses reveals Harry von Tilzer's sweet tooth. The cover of the original sheet music is a collage of lollipops and sugar-sticks with a just-about-to-kiss pair in profile encased each within the head of a lollipop. The turkey trot itself is a cheeky, cheerful and engaging composition. Its form is AABBACCCC form with a 4-bar introduction and a 12-bar interludes before each the final CC-strains whereby the AB- and C-strains are in the major keys of C and F respectively. This piece would go well with Harry von Tilzer's other title with a similar theme namely Stolen Sweets (1917).
Candy Kisses was published by Harry von Tilzer Music Pub. Co., New York, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
