Length: approx. 3 mins.
The Bluffton Carnival Rag obviously celebrates Verdi Karn's attachment to her home town just as her Blufftonian Waltzes (1900) does. It is a fine rag characterised by a pronounced de-dah-de dah dah theme. Its form is in ABBCCBB with a 4-bar introduction and a 2-bar interlude between the B- and C-strains whereby the ABB- and CCBB- strains are written in the major keys of G and C respectively. A must for any programme of lady ragtime music.
The Bluffton Carnival Rag was published by Remer Music House, Mt. Clemens, Michigan, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
