Golden Moon is a fine march two-step which charms with its relative simplicity and melodious strains. Its form is AABBACCBB with a 4-bar introduction whereby the AABBA- and CCBB-strains are written in the major keys of Bb and Eb respectively. This is a great piece for the treble voice who has all the melodies from start to finish. The cover of the original sheet music shows naturally enough a golden moon in a lakeside rural setting. This dreamy nocturnal setting is somewhat at odds with the lively and spirited march - whatever - go ahead and enjoy a typical Johnson composition.
Golden Moon was published by Jerome H. Remick & Co., New York & Detroit, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
