A Fancy (2010)

For my taste, A Fancy is sad, doleful piece gracing the centre-fold of Spring 2012 edition of The Recorder Magazine. Just 25 bars, which I have tried out the descant voice on my concertina as a sight reading task, seems to suggest that this piece is more of an exercise in compositional skills than a piece to be performed for enjoyment. It is quite a contrast to Divertissement (2010) given in the same issue.
The composer, G. Beechey, has generously permitted this piece to be freely photocopied and performed.
