The Nora Bayes Fox Trot is a bright and cheerful fox trot characterised by long passages of dotted quavers (eighths) and sixteenths. It is written in AABBACCA form with a 4-bar introduction and concluded by a 4-bar break whereby the A- and BC-strains are written in the keys of G and C respectively. The C-strain is set up by an alternation scramble to descant and treble by the 3rd tenor and 1st bass respectively. It has nice touch with an unexpected 2-bar chiming passage. This adaptation for recorder sextet will delight those ensembles that enjoy alternating their instruments
The Nora Bayes Fox Trot was published by F.J.A. Forster Music Publisher, Chicago, Illinois, USA.
A tempo of 150 crotchets/min. is suggested.
