Christopher Simpson  (1605-1669)

According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, Christopher Simpson [or Sympson] was an English player of the (bass) viola da gamba, author of musical treaties, composer of various works for his instrument and for groups of strings. It is not known whether he was related to Thomas Simpson.
