According to the Internet source given below, Ross Parker (born Albert Rostron Parker) was an English pianist, composer, lyricist and actor.
In addition to his wartime patriotic songs his song-writing career included a number of chart hits between 1938 and 1970. I Won't Tell A Soul (I Love You) (1938) co-written with Hughie Charles was a number one hit for Andy Kirk for example. He is best known songs are:
  • Girl in the Alice Blue Gown (1938)
  • There'll Always Be an England! (1939), co-author Hughie Charles
  • We'll meet again (1939, co-author Hughie Charles and sung by Vera Lynn
In 1956, Shirley Bassey's manager Michael Sullivan commissioned Parker to write a song for the then 19-year-old Bassey. Parker wrote Burn My Candle, which later became Bassey's first recording.
