All that can be presently gleaned about Arthur W. Bauer is taken from the sheet music cover of one of his compositions, Three Strikes. He was a member of John Philip Sousa's famous band as a trumpeter together with his brother Charles F. Bauer and both were apparently members of the band's baseball team. The brothers published their compositions with their own Bauer Bros. Music Co., Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA
