After studying music at the Conservatory of Piacenza.he then studied recorder with Edgar Hunt later graduating on this instrument at Trinity College of Music in London. On graduating in Modern History at the University of Turin he then commenced his concert career both as an instrumentalist and as a vocalist in the field of Renaissance and Baroque music, one of the first in Italy to rediscover the repertoire.
He is the founder of the Recorder School at d the Academy of the Holy Spirit in Turin and the baroque orchestra "Academia Montis Regalis". As a musicologist he lecturerdat the School for Advanced Musical Studies of Saluzzo and the Accademia Filarmonica Trentino as well as beinga Professor of the History of Performance Practice at the Conservatory G. Verdi of Milan). In 1992, he published the first Italian translation of Treatise on Flute by Quantz and in 1997 he published the study The Royal Chapel in Turin in the eighteenth century "on behalf of the Academy of Santa Cecilia.
