School Life was "Respectfully Dedicated to All Schools" by Johnson, no doubt hoping for commercial success should this march actually be played all American schools. In all fairness however, this is a rousing, simple march well within the capabilities of any school band and indeed this recorder adaptation is equally able to be played by school recorder ensembles. Johnson has even provided lyrics to be sung during the trio (bars 37-68) to whit:
Sing to our School Life, Hail to our team.. Proud let our colors wave supreme.
We fear no problem, conquer in strife (Rah!, Rah!). School days can come but once.
  Cheer for School Life.

School Life was published by Sam Fox Pub. Co., Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
A tempo of 150 crotchets/min. is suggested.
