I have to have had (grammar) learned this piece at the behest of Heidi Suhrlie of The Vegesack Double Quartet fame. This is a straightforward Chaconne, somewhat long requiring endurance, without any hideous traps for the unwary. As a bass player I had a fairly undemanding rôle to play and I had much opportunity to listen to what the upper voices were up to. Pleasant but not mind-boggling!
