This modern, very black (i.e. printer's ink has not been spared) item has languished, un-played in my library for more than twenty years. On the few occasions that it has seen light-of-day for the purpose possibly being included in a programme, it has been briefly glanced at, shuddered at and hastily passed over. It seems that four really advanced players are required. For myself, I would still like to take a bash at it if I could persuade three others. The suite has five parts. Marsch (Allegro), Pastorale (Andante), Tanz (Allegretto), Kanon (Lento) and Fughetta (Vivace) of which the Tanz appears to be the easiest.
