According to the Internet source given below, Hans Helfritz was a German composer, travel author, music ethnologist, explorer and adventurer,
photographer and cameraman born in Greifswald, Berlin.
He studied contrabass and composition from 1926 to 1929 at the University for Music in Berlin, under Paul Hindemith, among others, and also studied comparative musicology with Professor Erich von Hornbostel.
