Volker Gwinner  (1912-2004)

According to the Internet source given below, Volker Gwinner was a German church musician, organist and composer born in Bremen.
He studied music with Günther Ramin, Günter Raphael and Johann Nepomuk David. He was a church musician in Bremen and Dresden ( Sophienkirche ). From 1957 to 1977 Gwinner was composer and organist in Lüneburg at the St. Johanniskirche. He lectured at the Conservatory in Bremen and at the Kirchenmusikschule Hannover. From1968 to 1980 he lectured at the University of Music and Theater in Hannover. In 1970 he was appointed professor.
Gwinner wrote numerous compositions for choir, organ and other instruments as well as commissioned music for radio and television. Concert tours took him to other European countries and overseas. His life was spent in Bremen-Oberneuland .
