According to the Internet source given below, Carl Hugo Grimm was an American composer, educator and organist born in Zanesville, Ohio.
He was taught music by his father and was largely self-taught as a composer. He did however take lessons from Edgar Stillman Kelley and Frank He wrote orchestral works, chamber music, some choral works, and songs.
He died in Cincinnati, Ohio.
