Alexis E. Chabrier  (1841-1894)

According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, [Alexis] Emmanuel Chabrier was a French composer, also pianist and conductor; originally civil servant; visited Spain 1882, and afterwards wrote orchestral rhapsody "Espana". Wrote also "Joyous March", for orchestra, piano and two-piano works; opera "King despite himself"; etc. In late life suffered melancholic near-madness.
