p_whyton.jpgAccording to the Internet source given below, Wallace Victor "Wally" Whyton was a British musician, songwriter and radio and TV personality born in London.
He played piano, trombone and guitar. He formed the Vipers Skiffle Group in 1956 which was the resident band at the 2i's Coffee Bar in Soho. In 1960 he moved to radio and television presenting a number of programmes for both the BBC and Granada TV. Popular with children, he recorded several albums of children's and nursery songs and appeared in children's television programmes.
He presented a regular Wally Whyton's Folk Music show for the BBC World Service until a few weeks before his death.
